The 10 Steps Fashion Event Kit

A few days ago, we had an engaging chat with Marco Sanna, not only a friend and external collaborator of AVP, but also Visual Merchandising expert, event planner and owner of Visual Consulting, who share with us his journey to the organization of a Fashion Event and some very useful tips.

A Fashion Event requires a lot of different steps to be achieved in order to be memorable: from the early study of the brand and its market, to the coordination of all the different tasks involved.

But let’s take this step by step and move to the discovery of what Marco describes as the 10 steps Decalogue for the perfect organization of any Fashion Event.

First of all: What’s the main purpose of a Fashion Event?

According to Marco, a Fashion Event should be able to arouse an emotion and represent something unforgettable, something that can leave a strong and lasting impression on the viewers’ minds.

How to do that?

1. Find and manage the contact with the Client;

2. Do an analysis of your Client’s Brand (you would probably discover a lot of things you didn’t know about it);

3. Identify, understand and define the goals of the Brand (which, from your Client’s perspective represent the value of the investment);

4. Do a creative research and try to design a specific vision of the market of the Brand in question;

5. With the support of your graphic team, carry out a representation of the project you came up with;

6. Search for trusted suppliers (to take care of light service, authorizations, business and account aspects, etc…) and define a budget for your project;

7. Present to your Client a range of, possibly three, Mood Boards and creative concepts of the Event (considering location, music tracks, catering, artists, etc…);

8. Start with the arrangement of your Event as soon as your Client is passionate about one of the projects you presented and described;

9. Take care of both direction and management of your Event;

10. And last but not least, you have to think about the photographic and video material of the Event: they are going to be really useful for your social medias and marketing campaigns.
