8 simple steps to create a window display campaign

Managing a creative project and the relationship with a client are probably the most important activities to daily carry out for your business. To easily manage the relationship avoiding faulty thinking and misconceptions, having a standardized scheme to run projects could be a smart solution. Here you can find our tested eight basic steps to develop a window display project:

1) BRIEF

Organizing a meeting with clients is usually the best approach to start a project. The brief is the first touch point between your creative studio and the brand you have to translate in a creative visual concept. During the meeting every informations about target and objectives to achieve need to be shared and clearly communicated. You have to empathize with your client and understand if it has any particular pattern or theme to develop.

2) Budget

Remember that everything your client hope to achieve and all your beautiful idea for amazing window displays, must be brought in a brick-and-mortar set-up. For this reason it’s important to reach an agreement about the budget per window the brand is willing to invest.

3) ARTWORKS AND RENDERING

Now that you know what to do and the budget to achieve your creative goals, you are ready to develop ideas and start be really creative! This is the step to brainstorm a lot of innovative ideas, think about how you can help the brand stand out from competition by telling to customers why it is unique and which values are at the core of its communication. But you can’t create countless projects. Usually we introduce to our client three different artworks presented in the form of renderings.

4) PROTOTYPES

And at this point the client will choose the artwork that best fit its needs and ambition, so that you can bring the chosen idea to next level developing the concept in a deeper way. It’s in this step that you can create prototypes and simulation of how the window displays will finally result. Here at Arte Vetrina Project we have a space that perfectly recreates a retail environment enabling our clients to overview prototypes in their ultimate scenario and carry out corrections or changes if needed. It’s a very usefull appliace and clients love it!

If your project has arrived here, now there is a tricky and crucial phase: logistic. Logistic is everything but simple: all window materials have to be delivered to their final client’s locations according to a pre-established schedule.

7) SETTING-UP

Finally it’s time for setting-up: a team of specialized workers assemble, most of the time during the night, window display props and materials supported by one of our window dresser. And then the final touch with items setting-up and your window displays are ready to go definitely live.

8) CHECK

But your duty is not over. After one or two weeks, depending on how long windows stay live, window designer should check if everything is still performing as planned and if brand’s target in term of store entrants and sales results have been achieve.
